This 8 part series follows the stories of those residing in the fictional five star Halcyon hotel. Set in 1940, swing music and glitz await inside the walls of the glamorous establishment but outside, the war takes its toll. The world is changing, from national politics to entrenched social conventions, shifts of power are happening. Playing fields are levelled between the staff, the owners and the guests as everyone is forced to confront the difficulties of rations, black outs and conscription.
